At some point in time, most of us feel like we’ve gotten stuck in a rut, especially when it comes to our careers. Whether you’re just not experiencing the upward growth you want or you’ve found that your current job just isn’t a good fit anymore, you may find yourself needing to investigate new career possibilities. So what can you do to expand your options?

Start Blogging

Blogging can be a great tool for building a following and an online presence. As you might imagine, those are things that are useful for both businesses and those who want to build their careers. Creating a successful blog offers multiple opportunities. You can use it to generate income by becoming an affiliate, build connections with people who might be able to help you land a different job in the future, and strengthen skills that can be useful in a variety of fields.

Start a Podcast

What do you do when you want to pass the time but don’t have your hands free? You probably turn on something to listen to. But what if you were to create the content people tuned in to while they were commuting, cooking, or whatever else they were doing? You might consider starting a podcast. There are more than 68 million people listening to podcasts every week. While there is no single podcast that everyone listens to, there is an audience for virtually any topic. Like blogging, this can be a good way to get yourself out there, get experience, and maybe earn a little extra income on the side.

Expand Your Education

You might have a career in mind that you want to switch to, but maybe you don’t have the skills you need to break in yet. Pursuing further education may be the perfect project to undertake so you can expand your career options. While that certainly can mean getting another or higher degree, it doesn’t have to. You might enroll in a trade school or take different courses that can teach you the skills you’ll need to succeed in the new field you want to work in.

As it turns out, there are a few different projects you can use to expand your career possibilities. Blogging, starting a podcast, and expanding your education are a few options worth considering. For best results, have a goal in mind and let that be the focus of whatever project you decide to pursue.
